What is SuperMae?

SuperMae is an AI assistant for parents that works inside WhatsApp, in Portuguese and English. It reads school emails and newsletters and turns them into dates, reminders and answers you can ask questions about. Each morning it sends what the day holds, and each evening what tomorrow needs.

Do I need to install a new app to use SuperMae?

No. SuperMae works inside WhatsApp, so there is no separate app to install and no new login to remember. You message SuperMae the way you would message a friend.

How do I connect SuperMae to my school email?

There are two ways to get school email into SuperMae. You can forward messages to SuperMae from any email account, or you can connect a Gmail inbox once and let school mail arrive on its own. Either way, SuperMae extracts the dates, events and deadlines and puts them in your WhatsApp.

Which email providers does SuperMae support?

Forwarding works from any email account, including Gmail, Outlook, iCloud and school-issued addresses, because you send the message to SuperMae yourself. Connecting an inbox, so that school mail arrives without forwarding, currently works with Gmail.

Which school platforms does SuperMae work with?

SuperMae does not log in to school platforms such as Inovar, GIAE or ClassDojo. It works from the email your school already sends. If a message from any of those platforms reaches your inbox, forward it to SuperMae or connect your inbox, and SuperMae reads it the same way it reads any other school email.

What can SuperMae not read well?

SuperMae reads web pages, Word documents and born-digital PDFs near-perfectly. A scanned PDF, meaning a paper document photographed or scanned with no text layer behind it, has to be interpreted as an image and is materially less accurate. Where a school publishes the same document in more than one format, forward the most structured one.

Which languages does SuperMae speak?

SuperMae speaks Portuguese and English, and neither is a translation of the other. It detects which language you are writing in and replies in that language, including when you send a voice note instead of typing.

Does SuperMae sync with my calendar?

Yes. SuperMae adds the events it finds to your Google Calendar automatically, so you never enter them by hand.

Is my data safe with SuperMae?

Yes. Your data is encrypted, stored in the European Union, never sold, and you can delete it at any time under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the EU data protection law. Some AI processing happens outside the EU under Standard Contractual Clauses, the safeguard the GDPR provides for exactly that. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my SuperMae account and my data?

Send SuperMae the message “delete everything” on WhatsApp, and all of your family data is erased. The flow takes 24 to 72 hours on purpose, with an email confirmation and a cooling-off window, so that nothing irreversible happens by accident, and you can stop it at any point before it runs. What gets deleted at each stage is set out on our data deletion page. SuperMae is operated from Portugal by Graceful Tomorrow Lda, so you can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD.

Does SuperMae work for more than one child?

Yes. SuperMae handles several children across different schools, and it handles shared custody and co-parenting, so each parent gets the things that are theirs to act on rather than everything at once.

Is SuperMae free?

SuperMae is free during early access. You start by messaging it on WhatsApp, and no payment details are asked for.
